Cool Off At New Shark Wake Park In West Palm Beach

There's a new waterpark in town.

And Shark Wake Park 561 – the brainchild of wakeboarder and kiteboarder Greg Norman Jr. (who's also the son of the famous Jupiter golfer) – is designed to be an over-the-top experience.

With the largest floating obstacle course on the East Coast, a full-size Cable Wake Park, a Shark Shack (serving drinks and snacks) and a pro shop, there’s plenty to do at this West Palm Beach venue.

First up: the Aqua Park.

“For the young and young at heart, the Aqua Park is a massive inflatable, floating playground featuring monkey bars, climbing towers, slides and more,” notes the venue’s website. “Covering an acre of water and offering different challenge levels and fun, the Aqua Park is the ultimate family-friendly and crew-approved water activity in West Palm Beach.”

There’s also Cable Wake Park, where visitors can experience wakeboarding without a boat (they’ll be towed by a high-tech pulley system). There are options for beginners as well as pros – along with waterskiing, wakeskating and kneeboarding.

Also on tap: a state-of-the-art pro shop featuring floor-to-ceiling windows to catch all the action outside as well as hats, T-shirts, towels and wakeboarding gear. Don’t forget to check out the one-of-a-kind mural by local artist K.C. Scott on the building’s exterior.

This is Shark Wake’s second location; the first opened in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, in 2016. The new venue is located in Okeeheelee Park. Summer camp is planned for 2020.
