Making A Difference

A Boca Raton Mom's New Kids Book Focuses On Self-Acceptance

From an early age, Justine Green learned how to overcome challenges.

The Boca Raton mom of two was born with atresia and microtia, an absence of an ear canal, leaving her deaf in her left ear. But she learned to read lips and, motivated to make a difference, earned bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate degrees in education.

Now, Dr. Green – principal of Tamim Academy of Boca Raton, an elementary school that’s part of Chabad Central Boca Raton – is sharing her story with others in her children’s book, “Completely Me,” a coming-of-age journey told from her unique perspective.

“‘Completely Me’ is a powerful story about a little girl who never noticed there was something different about herself, until others pointed it out,” notes a press release. “When she stands up for herself, the people around her learn the important lesson of self-acceptance – that everyone is different in their own unique ways and that those imperfections are what make you perfect.”
