The Classics, Revisited

Palm Beach Dramaworks Brightens Up This Hanukkah And Christmas

Many of us will be home for the holidays – so Palm Beach Dramaworks has a special gift to brighten up the season.

The nonprofit, professional theatre has launched a free online “Home For The Holidays” series.

“This is going to be a very strange and melancholy holiday season, with so many people unable to spend time with their families,” says William Hayes, the company’s producing artistic director. “We want to be there for our patrons, and to share with them classic works that touch the heart as they explore such ideas as redemption, identity, resiliency, and hope.”

Tune in Dec. 7 at 7:30 p.m. for a live performance of “The Last Night of Ballyhoo,” a Tony-Award winning comedy-drama set in Atlanta in 1939 which explores Jewish identity, anti-Semitism and inter-Jewish prejudice.

“A Christmas Carol,” which will be pre-recorded, will light up your night on Dec. 21 at 7:30 p.m. The presentation will showcase Palm Beach Dramaworks personalities reading the 1843 novella – complete with illustrations.
