Broward Performing Arts Foundation Funds Parker Playhouse Renovation

Sometimes, you just need a helping hand.

Kudos to the Broward Performing Arts Foundation, which stepped up and raised $30 million for a renovation of the Parker Playhouse in Fort Lauderdale.

State-of-the-art equipment, a reimagined lobby, premium lounges, a signature bar area and advanced acoustics are just some of the changes patrons will see when the transformation is complete in 2021.

“The classic sophistication will be retained in the $30 million reimagining of the Parker. The vibrant new lobby design will elegantly integrate the original façade of the building, and many of the other original architectural features will remain intact, including the popular continental seating configuration inside the theater,” notes a press release.

The Broward Performing Arts Foundation has provided support for the Broward Center, of which the playhouse is a part, for more than three decades. It previously raised $60 million to complete the Encore! capital campaign to renovate, renew and revitalize the Fort Lauderdale venue.
