Time To Wine And Dine

The Greater Fort Lauderdale Food & Wine Festival Is Back!

by

The Greater Fort Lauderdale Food & Wine Festival (GFLFW) is scheduled to make a comeback with a new date and venue. The week-long festival, which made its debut in 2019, was canceled in 2020. A “reimagined” and smaller version of the festival was held in March 2021.

Now the event is moving from March to January 10-16, 2022 and will be taking place throughout Broward County with its signature event, The Grand Tasting and free Family Day taking in a new venue — Las Olas Oceanside Park.

“After a year hiatus and a reimagined festival due to COVID-19 precautions, the reception we’ve received, not only from the City of Fort Lauderdale, but from local businesses and brands, has been overwhelming,” said the festival’s co-founder Kate Reed.

A new chef-driven dining series and educational series with various food and beverage classes was added, something the festival’s co-founder Phil Marro called an easy decision.

“After selling out all our chef dinners in 2021, it became apparent that there is a local demand for these types of events and there is certainly no shortage of creative restaurant partners,” Marro said.

Signature events include the Cocktail Confidential at Rooftop @1WLO, Poolside BBQ Battle at the Hyatt Centric Las Olas and The Grand Tasting at Las Olas Oceanside Park. They’ll also be a Family Day, presented by Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital — a free event filled with kid-friendly activities, food trucks and cocktail bars for the big kids.
