Wynwood’s Hipster Hangout

Unique Hospitality Concept Freehold Miami Opens In Miami

With an eye on Miami’s upwardly mobile set, developers Brice Jones and Brad Gallagher have taken their unique hospitality concept, reminiscent of a bustling boutique hotel — without the actual rooms — to the Magic City’s artsy Wynwood district.

The new 10,000-square-foot hangout, Freehold Miami, houses a front desk, two bars, a café, coffee shop, co-working spaces and a common area reminiscent of a hotel lobby. Beyond the lobby bar customers will find a 4,000-square-foot courtyard, featuring a cumaru wood “pool deck” with creative seating, leading to the central focal point, a sprawling turfed area for lounging reminiscent of a hotel swimming pool.

Here, guests can enjoy different seating options, perfect for relaxing or enjoying dining outdoors while listening to their favorite local DJ. The courtyard also sports a trellis roof, bringing respite from the sun and a stage for live performances.

Co-founders Jones and Gallagher opened their first all-day, all-night hospitality concept, Freehold Brooklyn, in 2015. The place has been so popular they opened a counterpart in Wynwood in December.

“We fell in love with Wynwood in 2015 and believed our concept would be a perfect fit for the ever-growing neighborhood as Freehold is so much more than just a bar or a restaurant,” Jones said in a press release. “We know we’ve accomplished our goal as creators when we see our guests arrive and utilize the space to work or host a meeting during the day and then stay to enjoy cocktails as the space transforms in the evening, offering a completely different ambience.”
