Make Yourself At Home

Finding Comfort And Inspiration In Our Favorite Spaces

by

There are countless enchanting quotes about home, but the simple reflection by beloved author Laura Ingalls Wilder (from the famed “Little House on the Prairie” series) resonates strongly with me:

“Home is the nicest word there is.”

Despite my love for traversing the globe and attending parties, galas, dinners and shows, there’s something so singularly comforting about being home. Beyond serving as a nurturing sanctuary, my home also sparks my creative spirit, as I’m always on the lookout for inspiration to refresh the decor. Cue our March Home + Design Issue, an issue overflowing with ideas!

We begin with our cover star, Dee Ocleppo Hilfiger in “Style Savvy” (page 68). Married to fashion icon Tommy Hilfiger, she’s a design superstar in her own right. Between two hugely successful fashion lines and her talented transformation of the family’s multiple homes, she sets the bar high with her fun, approachable style.

Next, we explore the fascinating trend of emotional design in “Happy Home” (page 74). One of the silver linings of being housebound during the pandemic was the introspection that led to a deeper appreciation of our homes and the valuable physical and psychological effects they have on us.

We turn our sights to local talent in “Paradise Found” (page 80), which follows Ashley Whittaker’s extraordinary career in home design and the many paths it has taken her on. She truly knows a thing or two about beauty and transforming homes.

Whether large or small, there’s something magnificent about an impeccably designed house. “Creative Harmony” (page 86) celebrates that by showcasing a stunning South Florida home. Designed by the renowned 2id Interiors team, this Jupiter gem is sure to impress — and hopefully inspire — you with your next project, whether it be big or small.

As you turn the pages of this Home + Design Issue, may you find inspiration to create spaces that not only reflect beauty but also embody the warmth and comfort that make a house truly a home.

Enjoy your sanctuaries,

Linda L. Behmoiras
