A Feast Fit For A King

Father’s Day Round-Up

by

With Father’s Day around the corner, what better way to celebrate with those you love than by gathering around the table and sharing an extraordinary meal? And since so many restaurants are offering specials, we took the liberty to pick some of our favorite places to spoil the patriarch in your life.

Café Boulud

To pay tribute to the man of the house, Executive Chef Dieter Samijn will offer two delicious specials for Father’s Day: the legendary DB Burger, made with beef short rib, foie gras and tomato compote served on a parmesan poppy seed bun and the Prime Rib Eye grilled on the Green Egg (no, not Green Eggs and Ham — a Green Egg is an outdoor cooking system engineered to provide better heat retention than any other outdoor cooker).

Lionfish

This year, celebrate Father’s Day at the Atlantic Avenue hotspot. While seafood is a big contender on the menu, if meat is what he is craving, Dad can enjoy specials like the 8-ounce Center Cut Filet, 30-ounce Rib Eye or Grilled Lamb Chops. For those wanting to enjoy a drink, diners can choose from a selection of Angel’s Envy Bourbon or Aberfeldy Scotch cocktails. What’s more, the first 100 fathers to dine at Lionfish will receive a complimentary Aberfeldy Scotch gift to take home.

Cote Miami

Recently awarded a prestigious Michelin star, this upscale steakhouse promises to be an experience Dad won't forget. Opt for the Butcher’s Feast, featuring four selected USDA Prime and American Wagyu cuts with Korean sides like pickled seasonal vegetables and salads, fresh red leaf lettuce with ssam-jang (a thick spicy sauce made with soybean paste, chili paste and other seasonings), fluffy savory egg souffle and two stews with rice. Soft-serve ice cream topped with soy sauce caramel hits comfort notes for dessert. Cote is also shipping the Father’s Day Feast For Four through Goldbelly, however, we suggest heading to the gorgeous, sleek restaurant for the full experience.

La Cañita

The Caribbean-Latin American restaurant from James Beard Award-winning Chef Michelle Bernstein and hubby/partner David Martinez has a spectacular waterfront view of Miami paired with live music — an excellent way to celebrate Father’s Day. Specials include Parrillada, a mixed grill feast with chicken breast, chorizo, guava barbecue spareribs, flank steak, vegetables and French fries — served with a Father’s Day cigar, courtesy of La Cañita. Order Pops a Caribbean Old-Fashioned with rum, bitters, homemade syrup, citrus zest and cherries to round things off.

Delray Beach Market

Experience a two-day celebration of Dad on June 18 and 19 at the expansive food hall. Meat lovers will want Big T’s Deli’s ½ Rack Rib Dinner (Memphis-style with potato salad and collard greens) and Cellar And Pantry’s Porchetta Sandwich wrapped in crispy roasted pork belly. Alpine Sausage’s Game Day Frank paired with your choice of local lager beer is always a hit as well. Like Southern sweet and savory dishes? Country Line’s Chicken and Waffles are served with hot honey butter and a watermelon slice, blending sweet with savory.  Sorella’s is offering a ‘Pasta With Pops,’ take-home pasta-making kit that doubles as the ultimate gift for Father’s Day. Drink specials at Central Bar include discounted drafts, local larger specials, discounted Old Fashioned, Angel Envy, Makers Mark and Jameson.

Menu highlights include Hamachi Crudo with apricot, green almonds, parsley crema and agrumato oil and whole-roasted Florida Snapper in a puttanesca sauce. If Dad is a meat guy, he’ll be thrilled with the Cowboy Veal Milanese and Australian Wagyu Skirt Steak, the latter of which is accompanied by pancetta and egg, caramelized cipollini and truffle osso bucco sauce.
