Sunday marks National Tequila Day, and while most of us may have fuzzy memories of way too many shots while in college, we are thankful tequila is now being celebrated and enjoyed as the fine spirit that it is. Here are some top spots to mark the occasion.
This authentic Mexican hotspot in Miami's bustling Wynwood neighborhood offers over 500 different variations of tequila and mezcal beautifully displayed in their giant four-tiered glass case, along with a slew of delicious tequila-based cocktails like the La Ambiciosa (tequila, grand Marnier and lime juice), Paloma 305 made (tequila, elderflower liqueur, agave, lime, grapefruit juice and soda) and Verde Que Te Quiero Verde (tequila, agave, cilantro and lime juice).
This Delray Beach favorite on Atlantic Avenue will be serving its Tequila Basil Smash, the perfect sip to enjoy after an afternoon of Olympic power shopping. Happy hour aficionados can toss back 2-for-1 cocktails along with beer, select wines, and $1 off oysters from 4 to 7 p.m.
Enjoy a quintessential Miami sunset with a cocktail in hand on National Tequila Day here. The Spicy Watermelon Margarita with habanero pepper infused tequila, Aperol, watermelon, lime, agave and orange liqueur hits all the happy notes.
There’s no better place to celebrate National Tequila Day than at Lona Cocina & Tequileria, Fort Lauderdale oceanside Mexican restaurant known for its extensive tequila selection. To celebrate, on Sunday the eatery is offering a specialty Las Bellezas Tequila Flight featuring three 21 Seeds Tequila flavors: Grapefruit Hibiscus, Cucumber Jalapeno and Valencia Orange. The flight will be available from 11:30 a..m to 1 a.m. In addition, 21 Seeds will be onsite for the fiesta offering complimentary goodies and giveaways. Reservations are encouraged and can be made on OpenTable.
With over 300 tequila varieties on the menu and all-day drink specials, look no further than Rocco’s Tacos & Tequila Bar this National Tequila Day. Enjoy House Margaritas for $5 in all flavors (Watermelon, Volcanic, Jalapeño, Skinny or House mix), or take it up a notch with Flight To Hollywood, a tequila flight tasting featuring Blanco, Reposado, Añejo and Mezquila expressions, served with orange slices and cinnamon salt.
Head to one of three locations for National Tequila Day and celebrate with a free shot of tequila (818 Tequila or Villa One) with the purchase of an iconic Sugar Factory Goblet made with tequila. It goes great with hefty brunch options like Insane Double Stacked Rainbow Pancakes and Sugar Factory's Eggs Benedict.

This delicious concoction, features Tromba Blanco Tequila, La Fête du Rose, agave and lime and is topped with black lava salt garnish. Continue the fiesta with a special edition of Disco Brunch Punch. The 12-inch disco ball-sized punch bowls — both fruity and floral in taste — will be tequila-based.
