There is a major health crisis in the U.S. regarding suicides and nearly a quarter of these suicides are committed by veterans. Active-duty soldiers and veterans give their lives to fight for our freedom, something many take for granted. In 2019 there were over 6,000 suicides committed by veterans, representing 13.7% of suicides among U.S. adults.  As citizens, we should take it upon ourselves to help the men and women who fight to protect us.

The Grey Team in Boca Raton, established in 2016, is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to support military members and veterans by preventing veteran suicides across the United States. By creating individualized, life-enrichment programs that fit veterans’ needs, The Grey Team aids to restore the lives of these men and women. More than 483 military service military members and veterans turn to The Grey Team for life-saving support since 2019.

The Grey Team will be hosting an “Evening Supporting Our Veterans” dinner Dec. 27 in honor of the sacrifices made by our nation’s veterans. With support and donations, the lives of these active-duty soldiers and military veterans can increasingly change for the better and continue to bring them hope.
