A Look Into Some Miami Art Week Events

Miami Art Week is here, so if you haven’t already, now is the time to clear your schedule and head to the city’s top restaurants, hotels and art galleries. We know it can be overwhelming to choose among the myriad of events, so we’ve gone ahead and selected some of the most anticipated offerings this year.

Adriana Jay Exhibition

A daughter of immigrants, Adriana Jay has dedicated her career to representing the hardships and rules imposed on women around the world. Each of her paintings highlights an adventurous woman with a unique story told through acrylic paint. Join for a wholesome activation accompanied by music and champagne at the K’Alma Spa inside the luxurious Hotel Victor.

When: Nov. 29 from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m.

Living Room

Post-digital art group Random International is hosting an immersive art and blockchain technology event at the Faena Beach Hotel. The installation consists of an architectural domain embodied in light and mist. Join for a one-of-a-kind interaction in which your experience will be tracked, recorded and turned into an NFT. Living Room, the machine that orchestrates this dynamic, reflects the movements of the audience in an unknown and unpredictable environment.

When: Nov. 29 – Dec. 4 from 3:00 – 7 p.m.

The Multi Faith Prayer Room

The Robot Heart Foundation is hosting a three-day event in Wynwood during Miami Art Basel. The Multi Faith Prayer Room consists of a 30-minute audiovisual installation in which 120 voices from around the world speak about faith, rituals and the future. Musical performances by local DJ Layla Benitez, West African DJ and producer AMÉMÉ and German group Brandt Brauer Frick will take place.

When: Nov. 30 to Dec. 3 from 3:00 – 8:30 p.m.

Show times: 3:30 – 4:00 p.m., 4:30 – 5:00 p.m. and 5:30 – 6:00 p.m.

Louis Vuitton’s Exhibition

Held at the Miami Beach Convention Center, this Luis Vuitton exhibition will showcase creative collaborations with internationally renowned artists Yayoi Kusama, Takashi Murakami, Richard Prince, Jean Larivière and Alex Katz, as a continuation of the mission that the French house has led since its first participation in Art Basel 20 years ago: bringing modern and contemporary art to new audiences.

When: Dec. 1 to Dec. 3

Lluvia de Lana

Visit Elser Hotel & Residences for a cocktail party and textile installation by Guatemalan artist Diego Olivero. The hotel lobby has more than 60 long vertical bodies of wool hanging from the ceiling in what looks like a colorful stream of rain. Light bites will be included for this meditative and second-to-none event.

When: Dec. 1 from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.

Art As A Social Experiment

Featuring only artists of color, The Gabriel South Beach partners with pop culture shopping destination Black Fence for a Miami Art Week exhibit. The artists have been exclusively curated by Black Fence and some of them, like Kelsey Marie and Shauna Harley, will present a live painting experience with augmented reality filters for guests to interact with. Enjoy a welcome cocktail by 11Vodka at the pool and patio of this iconic destination.

When: Dec. 3 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m.

Hive

Located in the heart of the city's liveliest arts district, Wynwood Marketplace is hosting Hive: a culinary, cocktail and art village featuring live art installations. The event will highlight the best epicurean and artisanal bites, well-known street and graffiti artists and specially curated wall installations spanning two city blocks. Local DJs will entertain the crowd with music.

When: Dec. 1 to Dec. 4 from noon – 3:00 a.m.

No Vacancy

No Vacancy supports and celebrates local artists and encourages the audience to interact and vote at the most renowned hotels in the city. This year, in collaboration with the Miami Beach Visitor and Convention Authority, No Vacancy presents 12 artists at 12 different venues, including the International Inn on The Bay, Fontainebleau Miami Beach, Avalon Hotel Miami, Croydon Hotel, Esmé Miami Beach and more.
