With phones in hand and the appeal of social media, Not My Daughter…Find A Cure Now! will be calling on its supporters to raise money as it continues in its fight against breast cancer.

Now in its 12th year, the volunteer group has raised millions of dollars since its inception.  A virtual telethon will be held on  Oct. 25, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. to raise funds for this important cause. Teen volunteers along with the NMD committee will be reaching out by phone and live streaming to the community. There will be entertainment, guest speakers and live social media posts. Proceeds benefit Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, PAP Corps: Champions for Cancer Research, and other cancer research-based organizations, as well as the Not My Daughter Healing Center at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center at Plantation.

“Not My Daughter...Find A Cure Now! is more motivated each year as we continue our mission to eliminate breast cancer for future generations. Like last year, this virtual event is an opportunity for our community to come together in a fun, innovative way while working together to help make a difference in the fight against breast cancer,” says Denyse Hostig, founder and co-chairwoman. The volunteer-run group has solidified its place in the community, growing in numbers and establishing a Teen Advisory Group. “We can still connect in a personal way, with our common goal in mind. With the help of our teens, putting them to work on the phones and social media as they are at the heart of our commitment and the reason behind it all,” says co-founder Jody Sternfield.
