Stand Among Friends

Help raise funds for Stand Among Friends (SAF), whose mission is to enhance the lives of people with disabilities by providing opportunities for them to live full lives.  

Lisa Friedkin, board member of SAF shared the importance of supporting TEAM emb(race) and the loss of Shawn Friedkin, the founder of SAF, “I am thrilled that Stand Among Friends is able to have TEAM emb(race) be a part of the Community Spirit Race. Raising awareness and resources to help individuals with disabilities live a life without limits is something Shawn was deeply passionate about.  We continue to keep his vision alive through our ongoing commitment to Stand Among Friends. TEAM emb(race) is in his memory always."  

Choose to participate in person or virtually on Mar. 5 in a 5k or one mile family walk/run at the FAU football stadium. SAF will be entering as TEAM emb(race) and supporters of the organization are encouraged to join the same team at the Spirit Race.  

This March will mark the one-year anniversary of the passing of Friedkin. Carol Chenkin shared a few words, "As a founder and longtime contributor to the growth and marketing of the nonprofit, I am grateful for something that had so much meaning to everyone at Stand Among Friends, especially Shawn, will continue this year through TEAM emb(race) at the Community Spirit Race. I hope to see our longtime supporters join us Saturday, March 5th at the FAU campus!"  

SAF is devoted to keeping its mission alive and has dedicated TEAM emb(race) in his honor.
