There's something illuminating about glass art - especially when light intensifies its color, shape and texture and creates the ultimate eye candy.

This month in South Florida, there's a double treat for glass art aficionados. Flamingo Gardens in Davie is hosting Borowski glass studio's U.S. premiere garden exhibit while the Wiener Museum of Decorative Arts in Dania Beach is featuring a Dale Chihuly exhibit.

The Borowski exhibit, dubbed "Fables and Fairytales," features works of art reminiscent of mythical creatures from beloved fables and fairy tales strategically placed in Flamingo Gardens' arboretum.

The Borowski studio is a family affair. It was founded in 1990 by Stanislaw Borowski and his two sons, Pawel and Wiktor; another son, Stani Jan, soon joined in the business. Borowski art has been featured in galleries, museums and European gardens.

"We are very excited to be the first botanical garden in the U.S. to host a major Borowski glass exhibition," says Flamingo Gardens Executive Director Keith Clark. "We think Borowski's glass art has great appeal that will engage adults and children alike and inspire new generations of glass art devotees."

For an even more enlightening experience, visit on Aug. 25 at 8 p.m. for a special night tour.

Chihuly devotees can see his works at the Wiener Museum of Decorative Arts' new exhibition.

"Chihuly is the world's foremost glass artist, and his awesome Macchia series celebrates his remarkable powers of innovation and imagination," notes the venue's website. "In Italian, 'macchia' suggests the spontaneous outpouring of artistic sensibility, and in choosing this title, Chihuly pays tribute to the glass blowers of Venice." O
