Sally Field – Revealed

Award-Winning Actress To Share Her Life Story At Arsht Center

by

Sally Field made us giggle in "Gidget." She defied gravity in "The Flying Nun." And she exuded hope in "Norma Rae."

Her infectious charm, girl-next-door looks and immense talent have captivated audiences for more than five decades. And, though much has been written about this iconic star, she's managed to keep most of her life private.

All that changed with the death of her mother, Margaret O'Mahoney, in 2011 - and Field's desire to share personal details of her troubled youth. And she'll do just that during An Evening With Sally Field on Oct. 22 at 7:30 p.m. at the Adrienne Arsht Center in Miami.

Her tell-all follows last month's release of "In Pieces: Sally Field," an intimate memoir about her lonely childhood and how it propelled her into acting.

"With raw honesty and the fresh, pitch-perfect prose of a natural-born writer, and with all the humility and authenticity her fans have come to expect, Field brings readers behind-the-scenes for not only the highs and lows of her star-studded early career in Hollywood, but deep into the truth of her lifelong relationships - including her complicated love for her own mother," notes the Arsht Center website. "Powerful and unforgettable, 'In Pieces' is an inspiring and important account."

Field, a two-time Oscar winner and a three-time Emmy winner, opened up to People with this revealing announcement: "I have this life that no one really knows... or at least I didn't even know truly. This is incredibly raw and intimate and personal. [The memoir includes] things I never thought I wanted to say out loud."

Event tickets include an autographed copy of "In Pieces." O
