Goodbye, Yellow Brick Road

He's breaking our hearts. Goodbye, Elton John.

The musical legend saddened fans with news of his farewell tour, which stops at the BB&T Center in Sunrise on Nov. 23 at 7 p.m. and at AmericanAirlines Arena in Miami on Nov. 24 at 8 p.m. (The Rocket Man circles back to the BB&T Center on March 16 at 8 p.m.)

"I plan to bring the passion and creativity that has entertained my fans for decades to my final tour," he said when announcing his stage departure. "After the tour finishes, I'm very much looking forward to closing off that chapter of my life by saying farewell to life on the road. I need to dedicate more time to raising my children."

John has been knighted, received numerous prestigious awards and won five Grammys - but it all pales in comparison to being a dad. Raising his children, ages 7 and 5, with husband David Furnish has touched the 71-year-old musician in a way he never thought possible.

"Our boys came into our life at a late time," John said on "Good Morning America." "I've never experienced anything like it, being a father and being a parent. There's no contest. I'd rather be with my children than playing shows."

The tour is getting rave reviews.
