If She Could Turn Back Time

Cher Brings Here We Go Again Tour To BB&T Center

by

Cher's Facebook post says it all: "I didn't know how or what I would do, but I just knew I wanted to be famous."

She's all that and more: Singer, dancer, actress, fashion icon, philanthropist - there isn't much this award-winning megastar hasn't done. There's even a Broadway play that offers a behind-the-scenes look at her roller-coaster life.

Cher - who is perpetually in motion - is now busy with her Here We Go Again Tour, which takes her to the BB&T Center in Sunrise on Jan. 19 at 8 p.m. It was apparent she was only kidding when she announced years ago that her touring days were over - and then embarked on a Farewell Tour that wrapped up three years later.

The Washington Post weighed in with this gem about the icon: "It is possible to be both in awe of Cher and a little worried for the woman who, at 72, qualifies for the senior discount and yet traverses the stage in dangerously high platform sandals while dancers writhe and kick around her."

Whether you know her from early hit songs like "I Got You Babe" and "Bang Bang"; her starring roles in "Moonstruck" and "Silkwood"; her new album, "Dancing Queen"; or her recent appearance in "Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again," she has proved her staying power in the entertainment world.

Notes IMDb: "With more ups and downs than the 2008 Dow Jones Industrial Average, Cher managed to rise like a phoenix from the ashes each time she was down and counted out, somehow re-inventing herself with every changing decade and finding herself on top all over again."

For Cher, the beat truly goes on. O
