Sarah McLachlan Concert For The Kravis Center’s 30th Anniversary Celebration

by

From Canada and beyond, Sarah McLachlan has known how to make a name for herself. After all, having more than 40 million albums sold worldwide is not something ordinary people achieve. That, three Grammy Awards and 12 Juno Awards have earned her a spot in the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.

On March 1 at 7 p.m., McLachlan will help the Kravis Center in West Palm Beach celebrate its 30th anniversary at its annual gala.

“Sarah’s music embodies the art of songwriting on its most personal level and her indelible vocals resonate with people everywhere,” notes the venue’s website. “Her songs have had a profound influence; ‘Angel,’ ‘Building A Mystery,’ ‘Fallen,’ ‘I Will Remember You,’ ‘Adia,’ ‘Sweet Surrender,’ ‘World On Fire,’ ‘Possession,’ and countless others are an inspiration to music lovers around the globe.”

But her influence goes beyond performing on stage. McLachlan founded the Lilith Fair tour, which raised over $7 million for local and national charities and helped female musicians launch their artistic careers. In 2000 she also founded The Sarah McLachlan Foundation to help children and youth access free, high-quality music education. “From an early age, music provided Sarah with the tools she needed to navigate the challenges she faced in her life, so she recognizes how important it is for every child to have those same opportunities,” the Kravis notes.

McLachlan is also an Officer of the Order of Canada, was appointed to the Order of British Columbia and is the recipient of the Governor General’s Performing Arts Awards for Lifetime Achievement.
