A Special Honor

Pay Tribute To Veterans At Mizner Park Amphitheater

by

Veterans Day will be here before you know it. While many government offices are closed and mail delivery is halted for the day, Nov. 11 is a day to reflect — and thank — veterans.

“It’s a celebration to honor America’s veterans for their patriotism, love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good,” notes the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

Boca Raton will be front and center with a tribute. The city is hosting a Veterans Day observance dubbed “Honoring All Who Served.” The event, scheduled for 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at Mizner Park Amphitheater, will include a musical processional by the Fort Lauderdale Highlanders, the Boca Raton Community High School NJROTC and the Boca Raton Police and Fire Honor Guards. The Boca Raton Community High School Band will also perform.

Also on tap at the free event: a Veteran Resource Fair featuring organizations that help veterans and their families with challenges encountered after their service. Veterans will also be served a free lunch (others attending are asked to give a $5 donation for the meal).

Music will be provided from 1-2 p.m. by Krescendo Brass, which, with two trumpets, French horn, trombone, tuba and percussion hits all the patriotic notes.
