A Tribute To Julia Child

Swank Specialty Produce Hosts Fete To Honor Esteemed Chef

by

Julia Child knew how to make cooking fun. She brought us French dishes we may not have been able to pronounce but could make after watching her classic show.

At 6-feet-2-inches tall she towered over others — in so many ways. And who can forget her famous slogan: “People who love to eat are always the best people.”

Swank Specialty Produce is hosting a special tribute to the iconic chef Jan. 8 at 4 p.m.

The event, part of the Swank Table series, will benefit Bak Middle School of the Arts Foundation and will feature chefs from Aioli, Casa Cana, Costa by OKM and LoveLee Bake shop who will include French Julia-inspired dishes.

“Each Swank Table event unites the area’s top chefs, mixologists and brewers for an unforgettable multi-course dinner benefiting a local charity. After enjoying a welcome bite and cocktail, guests are invited to participate in a tour of the hydroponic grow houses led by Darrin Swank, or simply wander around the fields to see a true farm in action before taking their seats in the expansive custom-designed pole barn,” notes a press release.

Other dinners in the series include a CBD Dinner, a Full Moon Chinese New Year and Bourbon, Barbecue & Blues.
