Trisha Yearwood Takes Center Stage At Parker Playhouse

It’s been five years since Trisha Yearwood was on tour. But the country singer is making up for lost time with Every Girl On Tour, which comes to the Parker Playhouse in Fort Lauderdale on Dec. 5 at 7:30 p.m.

The 55-year-old, who writes on her website that music “is more like a calling than a choice,” just dropped her new album, “Every Girl.”

“The theme of the album is it’s OK to be who you are no matter what. Sometimes, you’re playful. Sometimes, you’re frustrated. Sometimes, you’re sad. Sometimes, you’re happy. It’s OK. She stars in the Food Network’s Emmy-winning show “Trisha’s Southern Kitchen”; has penned three New York Times best-selling cookbooks; and designs cookware, furniture and home accessories.

The show not only fueled the Grammy winner’s love of cooking; it soothed her soul.

“Right before I started the cooking show, my mom passed away,” she says on her website. “The show was like therapy, especially because my mom and dad were really good cooks. Cooking those recipes and telling our stories helped my sister Beth and I keep their memories alive.” O
