When October kicks off in Miami, seafood enthusiasts know a world-class maritime food adventure awaits them. After all, as one of the city’s most anticipated culinary events, the South Beach Seafood Festival has delivered an unforgettable experience for foodies and fun seekers alike for the past 11 years. With top-notch delicacies and diverse entertainment ventures, the festival has something for everyone heading to the beach.

Running Oct. 18 to 21, the festival brings together seafood aficionados, impressive culinary talent and the city’s vibrant beachfront community during Miami’s renowned stone crab season. The four-day programming features live music performances, tastings, chef competitions and culinary demonstrations.

“The South Beach Seafood Festival has become an integral part of Miami’s cultural calendar, drawing locals and visitors from around the world to celebrate the city’s unique culinary landscape and laid-back beach culture,” says Valerie Roy, director of marketing and client strategy at CI Management, the team behind the event.

Four separate ticketed events are scheduled throughout the week. In “An Evening at Joe’s Stone Crab” on Oct. 18, Executive Chef Andre Bienvenu’s cuisine will be paired with wines curated by master sommeliers. Attendees can enjoy a formal sit-down at Kimpton Surfcomber Hotel’s “Crabs, Slabs & Cabs” Oct. 19 and a “Chef Showdown” Oct. 20 at Lummus Park where 20 of Miami’s top chefs will compete for the festival’s culinary crown. The eventful week comes to an end with the South Beach Seafood Festival on Oct. 21.

Spanning four blocks along South Beach, attendees will enjoy pop-up-cafes and restaurants like Cafe Avanti, Cafe Bernie, Cilantro 27, Lobster Shack, Pubbelly Sushi, Tanuki and more.
