Here’s a way to enjoy gourmet food — and help others.

Head for “Eat Your Heart Out,” the Fort Lauderdale “fun” raiser that mixes gourmet creations, luscious libations, celeb servers, live entertainment and a silent auction.

The event, set for Oct. 7 from 6–8:30 p.m. at the Galleria at Fort Lauderdale, benefits the Heart Gallery of Broward County, a nonprofit organization dedicated to finding loving families for the hardest to place foster children.

“We are thrilled to return to The Galleria at Fort Lauderdale to showcase our region’s top restaurants that are committed to helping children in need find loving homes,” Yvette DuBose, executive director of the Heart Gallery of Broward County, said in a press release.

Restaurants providing guests with epicurean bites include Boatyard, The Capital Grille, Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurants, Culinary Republic, Eddie V’s, Lips Fort Lauderdale, Press and Grind Juicery & Coffee Bar, Riverside Market and Café, Seasons 52 and Tarpon River Brewing.

Heart Gallery of Broward County launched its traveling photography exhibit of foster children waiting to be permanently adopted in 2007. It partners with ChildNet and local foster care providers to find adoptive families and other connections for these children.
