How Does Your Garden Grow?

Mounts Botanical Garden Offers Online Activities For All Ages

If you’re yearning to connect with Mother Nature but aren’t comfortable doing so in person yet, Mounts Botanical Garden in West Palm Beach has the answer.

While it just reopened to the public June 16, Palm Beach County’s oldest and largest public garden has remained digitally active, offering online activities for all ages.

First, you can visit Mounts virtually thanks to an online tour, available on its website.

“This is the perfect online opportunity to explore the beauty of the garden, learn more about the fascinating plants and display gardens, find family activities that can be enjoyed from home, enjoy breathtaking photos contributed by staff and guests, and even go on an art-meets-science excursion,” according to a press release.

A variety of virtual programs provide educational experiences for students in grades K-12, including Nature Quest, which “offers 20 fascinating factoids and questions of a horticultural nature,” and Make Your Own Frog Bog, which teaches kids to build and stock a healthy frog pond. Finally, Mounts partnered with the Scientist in Every Florida School program to create Virtual Learning Is Fun, a series of livestreamed events hosted by scientists that explore the intersection of art and science.
