Make Merry

Get In The Holiday Spirit At The Bonnet House

by

The Bonnet House Museum & Gardens in Fort Lauderdale has a lot to celebrate this season. Its 100th anniversary kicked off in May, and the festivities run through December 2020.

So, the 35-acre subtropical estate, historic house and museum, which reflects Old Florida at its finest, will be extra merry this holiday season.

First up is the Holiday Magic Soiree on Dec. 6 at 6:30 p.m., a catered event with entertainment, a champagne reception and more. Then, Whimsical Wonderland – An Evening For Families – takes place Dec. 8 at 5:30 p.m. Guests will enjoy live entertainment, story time, arts and crafts, holiday music and plenty of photo ops.

Evening Tours, where you’ll see gorgeous holiday décor, will take place between Dec. 7 & 13 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Each evening will feature special treats, including visits from Santa and his elves, strolling carolers, storytelling and special commemorations of the historic venue’s 100th birthday. Entertainment includes Pride Jazz Ensemble and Broward Center Spotlights. Bonus: The holiday trees, wreaths, centerpieces and more adorning the Bonnet House will be on sale.

Also on display: the history and grandeur of this gem, which is on the National Register of Historic Places.

“Be magically transported to the beginning of the 20th century and the days of gracious living, charm and whimsy when Florida was one of the nation’s last frontier outposts,” notes its website. O
