Maroon 5 just might be the most loved – and the most hated – band of all time.

The rock group, headed by frontman Adam Levine, is nothing if not controversial. Who can forget their notorious Super Bowl halftime performance last year that was replayed to infinity and beyond as viewers debated the propriety of Levine’s shirtless number?

The band moved on, finally, and is on tour, with a stop at AmericanAirlines Arena in Miami on Feb. 1 at 8 p.m. The playlist is sure to include the new release “Memories,” a three-minute sentimental tune and tribute to Jordan Feldstein, Levine’s best friend and the band’s manager who died in 2017 at age 40 from a pulmonary embolism and a blood clot in his leg.

“This song is for anyone who has ever experienced loss,” Levine wrote on Twitter. “In other words, it’s for all of us.”

The former “The Voice” coach elaborated on “The Howard Stern Show”: “I needed this song. In a world that’s increasingly chaotic and crazy and angry in a lot of ways, I feel like, rather than fight about things, it’s nice to have common ground, and all of us have had loss.”

There’s buzz that the band is working on its seventh album, and the tunes will have special meaning, says guitarist James Valentine.

“There’s always been a laser-like focus on the songs that we put out. Adam has an amazing ear, and he really has the ability to pick songs that resonate with people,” he told the Sun Sentinel. O
