Alanis Morissette Heads For iTHINK Financial Amphitheatre

Alanis Morissette is ready to rock again.

The Canadian-born musician and winner of seven Grammys is back on tour. One of her stops? The iTHINK Financial Amphitheatre Aug. 18 at 7 p.m. in West Palm Beach.

“I can’t wait to get back on the road again and see everyone. I’ve missed you so much,” she writes on her website.

Morissette, who learned to play the piano when she was 6, may be best known for her third studio album, “Jagged Little Pill” released in 1995.

She’s done a lot since then — both personally and professionally. The mother of three (nominated for 14 Grammys) recently recorded a duet with Willie Nelson dubbed “On The Road Again” and released a new album “Such Pretty Forks in the Road.”

The importance of volunteering and helping others was instilled in Morissette when she was young. “My hometown of Ottawa, in Ontario Canada will always have a soft place in my heart. It’s where, as a young child growing up, my parents took me to volunteer for Shepherds of Good Hope in the soup kitchen and now they’ve brought together local musicians to raise funds through their beautiful and touching version of #HereComestheSun!,” she wrote on her Facebook page.

As for her music? “Songwriting is an exercise in letting the unconscious out,” she told The Guardian. “I live my whole life, then I take 10 minutes to write the story of it.”
