Not To Be Missed

Van Morrison To Rock Out At Hard Rock

by

The third time just may be the charm for Van Morrison.

The music icon, who had to cancel two previous shows at The Hard Rock in Hollywood, is back on the agenda for April 23-24.

Known for his almost ever-present hat and sunglasses — as well as hits “Brown Eyed Girl” and “Moon Dance,” among others, he has been awarded two Grammys, honorary doctorates from Queen’s University Belfast and the University of Ulster, been inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame — and even knighted.

His most recent album “Latest Record Project, Volume 1” features 28 songs that reflect his love of the blues, R&B, jazz and soul.

“Morrison, whose voice still sounds as expressive as ever, and whose sax playing provides some needed livelihood on his latest, has released eight records in the past five years. In his older age, he’s turned, more like his contemporary Neil Young, to recording as a more casual form of self-expression,” notes a Rolling Stone review of the tunes.

“Van Morrison’s body of work is one of outstanding quality and quantity. His songs are like the incantation of a mystic, bewitching listeners with intricate lyrics and that unforgettable voice,” notes the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, where Van Morrison was inducted in 1993.
