AmericanAirlines Arena Welcomes Pop Megastar Billie Eilish

Billie Eilish dubbed her tour Where Do We Go?

For this 18-year-old musical sensation, the answer to that question is: anywhere she wants. And, on March 9 at 7:30 p.m., her world tour arrives at AmericanAirlines Arena in Miami.

Eilish made history at the Grammys when she swept five major awards: best new artist, record of the year, song of the year, best pop vocal album and album of the year. In fact, she became the youngest solo performer to win the latter category. 

Although she’s known for her eccentric style – neon green roots and oversized designer clothing – it’s her music that has catapulted her to the top of the leader board. 

Rolling Stone puts it this way: “Eilish has conquered the music world in part by doing everything she’s not supposed to. Her music is darker and weirder than that of most teen pop stars, with a gothy, punkish, vaguely sinister edge and nary a hint of bubblegum.”

Her Facebook page expands on that theme: “Eilish listens to music the way that most watch movies, entirely undefined by genre. This bleeds through into her own unique style of music, calling out lyrics with a mix of heartbreak and damaged indifference.”

Her first foray into the music world was the Los Angeles Children’s Chorus. Today, she works with her older brother, Finneas O’Connell, who is her producer, co-writer and harmonizer – and whom Eilish calls “my big brother and my best friend.” O
