To describe the contemporary Italian furnishings offered at Anima Domus as “beautiful” would be an understatement. More appropriate are adjectives like “exquisite,” “breathtaking” and even “inspirational.”

What started out in 1998 as one showroom in Coral Gables has grown to four locations — in Boca Raton, Miami and Aventura, as well as a warehouse/outlet in Hialeah Gardens. Brazilian-born owners Marconi and Silvia Naziazeni began their business from scratch out of their garage in Coral Gables. Now, they employ more than 40 and have their own fleet and warehouse.

“I believe that this can control the quality for our clients; we don’t use third parties,” Marconi explains. “We’re very technical when preparing our proposals and are famous for space-saving solutions like wall beds.”

The newest showroom, which opened in Boca Raton on Nov. 1, 2022, is an upgraded, high-end 10,000-square-foot concept that incorporates a more organized way of displaying great settings fully dedicated to (about 65) Italian manufacturers.

“We have, for example, living room settings that are curated to look like the clients’ homes, which is a concept that most of the high-end showrooms use,” Marconi points out. “The Boca community is growing and it is ready for this concept.”

When clients come through the door, the staff tries to understand the needs of those clients. Based on their needs, they come up with solutions, he adds.

Anima Domus, which is a Latin expression (“anima” means the spirit/soul; “domus” means home — put together, it means, “the soul of the home”), is a very positive and unique name that suits the proud couple’s business perfectly.

“We are the only company in our industry that is family owned (their son, Victor, also works there) and multilocational, with multi-brands fully dedicated to Italy,” Marconi expresses. “Our trademark is that our team knows a lot about the collection and the industry.”

Anima Domus is in growing mode, with no limitations in sight. As the company celebrates 25 years in the business, adding new showrooms in the future is a real, exciting possibility.
