Goldsmith & Complications Makes Watch, Accessory Buying Exciting

Danny Goldsmith

Why did Danny Goldsmith name his watch and jewelry boutique in Delray Beach ‘Goldsmith & Complications’?

“Goldsmith, my last name, has to do with my jewelry, while ‘complication’ is a watchmaking term that describes any timepiece that does more than just tell the time. Two popular complications are power-reserve indicators and moon-phase displays,” he explains.

“I have a real passion for lesser-known watch brands that make around a dozen watches a year, like Genus — of which I am the only U.S. retailer — and Urwerk. And I love to share that passion. It’s exciting to see clients’ reaction to seeing the Genus or Urwerk.”

Home to a handpicked selection of new and pre-owned luxury watches, accessories, jewelry and horological art, Goldsmith & Complications opened in November 2021 and has been wowing clients ever since. Maybe it’s the uniqueness and lavishness of the timepieces themselves, or the one-of-a-kind boutique, with its colorful décor, bar and eye-catching, inviting furnishings. Anyone can just come in, sit down, have a glass of wine and talk watches, Goldsmith points out.

The boutique showcases traditional pre-owned timepieces like Piaget and Rolex and new creations (of which Goldsmith is an authorized retailer) made by Angelus, Bradley Taylor, Genus, G-Shock, Oris Holstein, Schwarz Etienne and Urwerk.

Goldsmith always tries to think outside the box when it comes to accessories, as well.

“I have so many amazing pieces for the art collector,” Goldsmith, a native New Yorker, explains. Miniature, car-shaped clocks by L’Epee with a price point that starts at $34,000 include the Time Fast D8 Gold Chrome. With only 100 pieces in the world, the clock has an eight-day power reserve and a steering wheel to set the time. Then there’s the Berd Vay’e Horosphere, a spherical globe that presents a 360o vantage point to the thousands of watch components housed within and the brand’s Checkmate Collection, which highlights the complexity of watchmaking using the royal court of chess.

Goldsmith invites all to his Watch Fair on Friday, Nov. 11 and Saturday, Nov. 12 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., which will feature pre-owned watches and products from all brands, with brand representatives in attendance, as well as plenty of drinks and great conversation.

Goldsmith & Complications is located in Delray Beach at 411 E. Atlantic Avenue, #200W. For more information, call 561-332-3747 or visit goldsmithandcomplications.com.
