Jake Tuchman Sees Increased Demand For Private Jet Service
A recent shift has occurred in the travel industry as a result of the global pandemic. Those who previously would not consider chartering a private jet are now booking flights that offer safe passage from one destination to another.
For Jake Tuchman, this means a significant increase in business. The President and CEO of Simplicity Jets says COVID-19 allows people to justify spending money on flights where their exposure to the virus is significantly reduced.
“They no longer need to stand in line at the airport or sit on a flight with dozens of other travelers. This is especially important for older and high-risk clients,” says Tuchman.
Simplicity Jets has access to more than 60,000 aircraft and more than 8,000 airports worldwide. Tuchman and his team get clients aboard anything from piston prop planes and helicopters to long-range aircrafts. All of the jets chartered are Argus/Wyvern-rated, meaning they adhere to an internationally recognized safety standard.
Simplicity doesn’t book just flights. Additionally, the company handles a wide range of travel-related services for its high-net-worth clients including catering, ground transportation, hotel accommodations and even yacht rentals. Simplicity Jets adheres to strict pre-travel protocols. For example, all planes are sanitized both before and after each flight.
In addition to the usual snacks and other niceties, every flight comes with a complimentary basket that now includes hand sanitizer, sanitizer wipes and masks.
While Tuchman says he can have anyone “wheels up” within three hours of a phone call, it’s important for clients to understand that the ability to remain flexible is beneficial, especially these days.
“COVID-19 has changed some things: availability of planes and even airports are sometimes limited. Certain destinations require COVID-19 testing, and others do not allow flights in or out at all,” he says.
Tuchman recommends providing a three- to five-day window when possible to get the best travel options.
Simplicity is focused on growing its team and locations. It has offices in Boca Raton, New Orleans and Los Angeles with plans to open an office in New Jersey later this year.
“I am originally from New Jersey and we’ve grown a large footprint in the state so it made sense to open another office for 2021,” says Tuchman.
