Gone are the days when patients need extensive plastic surgery procedures to look younger. Today, minimally invasive surgery, injectables and lasers are making it safer, easier and less expensive to achieve the results patients desire.

Rafael Cabrera, M.D., F.A.C.S., has always believed that you don’t always have to use the biggest tool in your toolbox to achieve the best results.

“The best way to achieve a harmonious result is not to use one tool to its max, but rather use multiple tools to get the best results,” says Dr. Cabrera, a board certified plastic surgeon who has been in practice for more than 25 years.

His experience, credentials and reputation are why patients recommend him so highly.

Dr. Cabrera’s specialties include surgical rejuvenation procedures, like face and neck lifts; fat-grafting, platelet-rich plasma injections; and injectable procedures, such as neurotoxins (e.g., Botox) and fillers (e.g., Restylane and Radiesse), as well as, minimally invasive procedures, such as intense pulse light and CO2 Carboxy Gel treatments.

“With expert use of minimally invasive techniques, we are able to make significant changes with almost no recovery time and little risk,” says Dr. Cabrera.

The rise of social media has altered people’s impression of what they should look like, and digital filters on some of those platforms have created unrealistic expectations.

However, Dr. Cabrera notes, filters are not reality. He says having an experienced aesthetic professional is more important than ever to put patients’ expectations in line with what is achievable, safe and effective. He sees himself as an advocate, helping patients determine which procedures will work best for their individual needs.

“As surgeons, our role is to supplement information, correct it when it’s wrong, highlight important aspects, never lose sight of safety and efficacy and help people make the decision they are going to be happy with,” he says.

Dr. Cabrera succeeds because he has the skill and ability to make people look good without the obvious signs that someone has had work.

“Sometimes it requires a lot to make it look like you didn’t do anything; that’s the irony of it,” he says.
