Lior Raz, star and co-creator of the Netflix hit series “Fauda,” will be the keynote speaker at the American Friends of Magen David Adom (MDA) event “Saving Lives Together” on Nov. 18 at B’nai Torah Congregation in Boca Raton. Funds raised will support MDA, Israel’s national EMS blood and ambulance service.
Raz will share his insights into the culture and political realities of Israel and the Middle East in a moderated discussion at the event. Born and raised in Jerusalem, the actor, screenwriter and co‑CEO of Faraway Road Productions, is recognized worldwide for portraying Doron Kabilio in “Fauda,” which he created with Israeli journalist Avi Issacharoff.
Raz has also starred in “6 Underground,” “Operation Finale,” “A Body That Works” and “Crowded Room,” and appears in Ridley Scott’s “Gladiator 2,” out this month. He served as president of the jury for the 2023 Canneseries Festival and is currently an official ambassador for the International Judo Federation.
“Saving Lives Together” will also honor MDA’s 33,000 emergency personnel who operate under difficult conditions throughout Israel, including increasing rockets and acts of terror since the Hamas attacks on Oct. 7 last year. MDA medics visiting from Israel will share updates on their heroic work during the ongoing conflict. A special meet-and-greet for VIP sponsors will take place before the event.
