Cancer Alliance of Help & HopE (CAHH) had its 2023 Shop The Day Away Luncheon on March 2 at The Breakers Palm Beach. The sold-out event raised a historic $1 million for local cancer patients in need. The event featured actor, comedian, writer and president of SAG-AFTRA, Fran Drescher as the celebrity speaker.
Since Drescher, who created, wrote and was the executive producer of the hit TV series “The Nanny” was diagnosed with uterine cancer in 2000, she has taken on the role of health advocate, writing a bestselling book about her battle with cancer and founding a nonprofit to save lives through prevention and early detection. She also launched a movement to change how policymakers and patients think about cancer and healthcare.
Attendees enjoyed a silent auction, featuring more than 500 luxury designer items and one-of-a-kind experiences including exclusive trip packages to New York, an African Safari and a Casa de Campo golf vacation in the Dominican Republic.
“This is a very special year as Cancer Alliance is celebrating its 20th Year Anniversary,” says Stanton Collemer, CEO of CAHH. “That’s 20 years of making a powerful impact in our community! We are so grateful to all of our generous supporters who helped Cancer Alliance disburse over $750,000 to over 150 families last year alone. With the community’s support we look to increase our reach over the next year and beyond.”
Laura Moore Tanne, Michelle Robson Worth and Jacqui Michel, co-chairwomen of CAHH’s 2023 Shop The Day Away Luncheon along with Honorary Chairs Janet Levy and Soula Rifkin, made this luncheon the most successful event to date. All proceeds support CAHH’s mission of assisting local children, adults and families affected by cancer and the subsequent bills they acquire during treatment and recovery.
