2021 In My Shoes luncheon
On Oct. 13, JAFCO is hosting its 12th Annual In My Shoes Luncheon at Boca West Country Club. All proceeds from the event directly benefit the JAFCO’s Children’s Ability Center, located in Sunrise.
The JAFCO 2022 Welcome to Holland Award will be presented to Randi Winter for her continued dedication and support of children and families receiving services at the Children’s Ability Center. This special luncheon supports the families of children with developmental disabilities by showing everyone the challenges of being in their shoes. The event begins at 9:30 a.m. with a shopping boutique, followed by a lunch and a heartwarming program at 11:30 a.m.
Debra Faren and Terry Menas are the co-chairs of this year’s event. Kim Fetterman, Lori Konsker and Lori Solodkin are serving as honorary chairs. Ali Canter is the Boutique Chair and Jill Kravitz is the Parent Advisory Chair.
JAFCO is a non-profit organization serving abused and neglected children as well as those with developmental disabilities. The JAFCO Children’s Ability Center supports families who are raising a child with autism or other developmental disabilities. Approximately 1 in every 6 children are diagnosed with a developmental disability and 1 in 54 are born with a form of autism.
The Children’s Ability Center serves hundreds of children and families each month, offering them a beautiful, clean and fun place where they can feel safe and have a sense of belonging. The state-of-the-art center provides case management, support, therapy, child enrichment and extended respite care for children ages birth through 22. The center is open 7 days a week to provide support to the entire family starting on the day of diagnosis.
The Boca Raton Observer is the event’s exclusive media sponsor.
