H.O.W. (Hearing the Ovarian Cancer Whisper) is excited to announce that Oscar-, Golden Globe- and Emmy-winning actress Helen Hunt will be the celebrity speaker for the nonprofit’s 19th Annual Time is of the Essence Luncheon on Jan. 27 at The Flagler Museum in Palm Beach.
Best-selling author Lee Woodruff will serve as emcee and ask Hunt questions about her stellar career and her advocacy regarding women’s health.
Hunt has enjoyed a distinguished career not only as an award-winning actress but more recently as an accomplished writer, director and producer. As an actress, her extensive and diverse body of work includes roles in film, theater and television. She won a Best Actress Oscar for her role in “As Good As It Gets,” for which she also won a Golden Globe and a Screen Actors Guild Award. For her role as Jamie Buchman in “Mad About You,” Hunt garnered four Emmy Awards, four Golden Globe Awards (three as lead actress and one as producer) and a Screen Actors Guild Award.
As co-author of the best-selling book “In an Instant,” Woodruff garnered acclaim for the compelling and humorous chronicle of her family’s journey to recovery following her husband, Bob’s, injury in Iraq. Appearing together in the media since the 2007 publication of their book, the couple has helped put a face to the issue of traumatic brain injury. Together, they founded the Bob Woodruff Foundation to assist wounded service members and their families. To date, the foundation has raised more than $70 million to help veterans reintegrate into their communities and receive critical long-term care.
