In Jacob’s Shoes 14th Annual Dinner And Auction “Every Sole Counts” will take place Oct. 24 at 5:30 p.m. at Boca West Country Club.
This yearly fundraiser is the charity’s signature event supporting its mission to help South Florida children in need. The event will include cocktails, dinner, live and silent auctions and will feature entertainment by singer Bianca Rosarrio and The Smooth Operators. All proceeds will benefit In Jacob’s Shoes, a nonprofit organization formed in loving memory of Jacob S. Zweig, dedicated to providing shoes, socks, backpacks and school supplies to local children in need.
Honored at the event this year are Lifetime Achievement Award recipients Michele Poole and Karen Vaughan, Community Leadership Award recipients Adam and Kyley Rossen and Excellence in Service Award recipients Nat and Nancy Nussbaum.
The charity serves local children living in shelters or foster care. Providing them with shoes gives them the opportunity to attend school prepared, participate in sports and walk with dignity.
Since its inception in 2009, In Jacob’s Shoes has provided more than 255,000 pairs of shoes, 88,000 pairs of socks and 12,500 backpacks with school supplies to children in need in Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade counties. It supports more than 250 local charities, schools and social service agencies and has established and maintained over 100 emergency shoe closets in schools and shelters throughout the tri-county area. Its hope is to break the cycle of poverty by providing children with the essentials to succeed.
The Boca Raton Observer is the event’s exclusive media sponsor.
