Boca Ballet Theatre Announces Its 2024-2025 Dance Season Program
Boca Ballet Theatre (BBT) announced its 2024-2025 Cornelia T. Bailey Foundation Season of Dance, featuring breathtaking classical ballets and boundary-pushing contemporary works, as well as professional guest artists from the nation’s top ballet companies and a talented cast of local dancers.
BBT’s 34th season includes the finest dance concerts South Florida has to offer. Ring in the holiday season with the production of Edith & Martin Stein Family Foundation “The Nutcracker” on Nov. 29-30 and Dec. 1. “Clara’s dream unfolds as the Nutcracker Prince, Mouse King and Sugar Plum Fairy all come to life in the sparkle of Co-Artistic Director Dan Guin’s artistic vision,” states a press release. After the performances, on Nov. 30 and Dec. 1, children are welcome to attend the Gingerbread Ball to meet the cast of characters onstage, see the amazing sets and costumes up close, take pictures with the performers and collect autographs.
On April 5-6, BBT will present “Coppélia,” a charming narrative ballet about a life-size dancing doll who captures the heart of a villager named Franz. “When Franz sets aside his beloved Swanhilda to pursue Coppélia, Swanhilda shows him his folly by dressing as the doll and pretending to make it come to life. Ultimately, Swanhilda saves Franz from the hands of inventor Dr. Coppélius,” according to the ballet’s website.
During the summer, BBT will introduce a refreshing assortment of classical and contemporary works in its “Summer Breezes,” Aug. 2-3. “This mixed repertory concert offers something for everyone to enjoy as BBT explores different genres of dance,” notes the press release.
