For the first time ever, the iconic Venice Simplon-Orient-Express Train will start running this month. Recognizing the many activities that take place across Europe during the holidays, the Belmond Train has extended its annual season to include 10 itineraries in December.
All routes are one night and include destinations such as Paris (ooh là là), Vienna, Amsterdam, Venice, Florence, Prague and Budapest. Guests board the train for a four-course meal prepared by Chef Jean Imbert, who curates seasonal menus based on the locally sourced ingredients picked up at stops along the journey. Enjoy an after-dinner drink, as you view the snow-topped scenery of the European countryside go by. Then, it’s off to one of the many luxury suites for the evening.
These historic carriages date back to the 1920s and 1930s. The inaugural journey begins Dec. 2 and ends Dec. 20.
