We love Bimini for many reasons: its friendly locals, secluded beaches, turquoise waters and proximity to South Florida.
And, soon, we’ll have even more reason to appreciate the Bahamian island.
Illa Bimini Resort & Residences, which will feature a five-star boutique hotel along with 54 waterfront homes, is breaking ground this spring. The 40-acre development on Rockwell Island, just north of Bimini, has been meticulously planned.
“The lifestyle here is all about escaping the relentless pace of daily life, slowing down, disconnecting and focusing on the things that bring the most pleasure: nature, family, quality time and simplicity,” notes a press release.
The three- and four-bedroom residences will feature floor-to-ceiling windows, decks and terraces with plunge pools. And owners and guests with boats are in luck: The marina will be able to accommodate vessels up to 90 feet long.
As for the amenities? A bar and lounge, a restaurant, a library, fruit gardens, a beachfront tennis pavilion, volleyball and bocce ball courts, a children’s play area, a water sports kiosk and a water taxi will be just a few of the options. Guests will also be able to enjoy private chefs, personal trainers, sommeliers and pet care.
The getaway, located 48 nautical miles off Florida’s coast, is the closest Bahamian island to the United States. The creatives behind the project – Island Developers; Oppenheim Architecture + Design; and landscape architect Raymond Jungles, Inc. – certainly chose one of the most idyllic spots in the Bahamas for their venture.
“A paradise infused with adventure, the destination is known for its sparkling crystal-clear waters, world-class bone-fishing, fingertip-close access to wild dolphins, colorful coral reefs and modern architecture,” notes the press release.
Stay tuned.
