The dinner of our dreams has arrived. It promises easy prep, fewer dishes to wash and a gorgeous presentation that doubles as a centerpiece.
Enter the grazing board, a concept that the Food Network has dubbed “the coolest way to serve dinner.” But what exactly is it?
“It’s an artfully arranged spread of food on a large cutting board,” explains a Food Network article. “Place a grazing board in the center of your dinner table, and everyone can leisurely snack as they please.”
The possibilities are endless: a Spring Roll Board, with homemade or takeout sushi rolls, spring rolls and dipping sauces; a Meze Board, with dolmas, falafel, cheese-stuffed peppers and figs; and even a Brunch Board, with lox, schmears, sliced onion, capers and bagels galore.
MarthaStewart.com weighs in with this advice: “Select an oversized board, large enough to artfully arrange each item while maintaining visual order. Think of it as a blank canvas for swirling, layering and swooping flavors, colors, textures and making a visually appealing presentation. For an extra-beautiful finishing touch, add herbs from the garden.”
