· Camp Discovery provides parents with the opportunity to give their children (ages 6 - 12) a S.A.F.E. (Science. Affordable. Fun. Educational.) and unforgettable STEM experience of interactive exploration and immersive hands-on learning opportunities.
· Campers will enjoy educational and fun-filled activities with dinosaurs, marine biology, coding and even robots! There is something for every scientist in-the-making.
· The themed camps will take place on days that Broward County students are not in school.
· Camps are offered in one-day and five-day camp programs.
WHEN: Select days when Broward County schools are closed - from January – May 2022

· Skin and Bones
January 11 (One-Day Camp)
The bodies of living creatures do some amazing things to stay healthy. Campers will meet animals that shed their skin or even their skeleton to grow and stay clean. Future anthropologists will see the skulls and skeletons of different animals and get a look at their own cells under a microscope!

· Planet Pioneers
February 21 (One-Day Camp)
Calling all space explorers! Travel to MODS for an extraordinary extraterrestrial adventure. Campers will learn about the planets within our solar systems and build a rocket to visit them. Future space travelers will enjoy astronaut food and discover what it takes to survive on other worlds. The traveling exhibit Planet Pioneers, presented by Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, will engage campers with hands-on exploration.
· Engineering Challenge
March 18 (One-Day Camp)
Engineers design everything around us, from fans to roller coasters. Campers will test their engineering skills by building bridges out of paper and protecting an egg from an EGG-treme drop followed by a visit to MODS’ Makerspace to design and create a parachute! The sky’s the limit!
· Spring Madness
March 21-25 (Five-Day Camp)
Spring into science during Spring Madness week, with fun filled activities in biology, chemistry, and physics! Campers will discover how insect friends play an important role in nature as MODS releases ladybugs into Science Park, bring botany into colorful creations to learn about plant anatomy and learn the physics behind make-and-take glow-in-the-dark slime.
·Color Me MODS!
March 28 (One-Day Camp)
Join MODS for a day of colorful, and messy science in the Museum’s colors- yellow, red, white, and blue! Campers will learn about physics while making dizzy works of art in the Spin Art lab and explore the nature of dye while creating their own tie dye Camp Discovery t-shirt.
· Planet Warriors
April 15 (One-Day Camp)
Reduce, Re-Use, Reimagine! Campers will take a journey to learn about all things GREEN and how we can protect our planet Earth. Planet Warriors will discover the gross science of composting through a yummy lab and then take a tour through the Museum’s new Food Garden!
· All About Otters!
May 30 (One-Day Camp)
It’s Otter Time! Join MODS as they celebrate World Otter Day! Campers will engineer their own floating “otter” while exploring the world of otters and get all of their otter questions answered.
