If you’re not able to make it to Churchill Downs for the Kentucky Derby, enjoy the next best thing as the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival (FLiFF) and Board Chair Steven Savor host a fun-filled Derby party to celebrate the 149th Run for the Roses on Saturday, May 6 at Savor Cinema.
The race will be projected on the theater’s 30-foot, high definition screen, prizes will be awarded for the most creative Derby hats, bonnets and outfits, and there is also a 50/50 prize where guests can pick the horses they think will win, place or show.
The festivities begin at 4 pm at Savor Cinema, 503 SE 6th Street in Fort Lauderdale. Guests are encouraged to put on their Derby best and be prepared for an exciting time filled with entertainment, BBQ buffet, open bar featuring Fort Mosé Bourbon mint juleps and Muscle Vodka. And – live horses! www.fliff.com/derby
One of the highlights of the event is the live performance of THE JERSEY GIRLS, a powerful trio who will perform original and cover music in the Courtyard during the parties before and after the race. Their appearance is courtesy of FLIFF sponsor, Rocky Aiyash.
Special thanks to Fort Mosé Bourbon, Muscle Vodka and Kerwell Premium CBD House for their support.
Doors open at 4pm at Savor Cinema, 503 SE 6th Street in Fort Lauderdale, with free parking in the courthouse garage on SE 5th Avenue, just north of SE 6th Street. Tickets are $75 for FLiFF members, $100 for non-members. Space is limited, and advance purchase of tickets at www.fliff.com/derby is encouraged.
