Documentary Film Screening at Temple Beth El of Boca Raton: The March of the Living, Then and Now
All are welcome to register to attend the documentary screening and interview with Producer Suzanne Lasky Gerard, Former News Reporter for Channel 7 News Miami, at Temple Beth El of Boca Raton on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at 7:00 pm at their Schaefer Family Campus in East Boca Raton.
In 1988, a brave group of teens and adults flew behind the Iron Curtain to commemorate Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day) by visiting Holocaust and Heritage sites in Communist Poland. They then traveled to Israel to celebrate Yom HaZikaron (Israel’s Memorial Day) and Yom HaAtzma’ut (Israel’s independence Day). This was the very first March of the Living program. This Emmy-award-winning documentary shares the stories of several of the original participants, today in their 50s, talking about how their lives were changed by the March.
