Obscura ‘The World Today’ Exhibit

MAD Arts, an organization within the MAD agency dedicated to providing a playground for art and artmaking, is excited to announce that it will host and exhibit Obscura ‘The World Today’, an IRL (in real life) NFT photography exhibit curated by multimedia artist Maritza Molina

· Mad Arts Studios will host an IRL exhibition showcasing over 10,000 photographs by 138 international photographers on the blockchain.

· ‘The World Today’ is the largest NFT photography commission ever made.

· The exhibit is the first global visual timestamp of the 21st century featuring immediate surroundings, domestic, cultural, political, conceptual, and imaginative photographs from around the world, taken from March-April 2022, a time when much of the world was experiencing chaos.

The exhibition will showcase images from photographers spanning across six continents and over 90 cities in 39 participating countries including Ukraine, United States, France, Cuba, Ecuador, Japan, Iran, Venezuela, South Africa and more.

· Participants include world-renowned artists and emerging talent from National Geographic, Magnum Photos, Guggenheim fellows, World Press Photo, Pulitzer Prize, and Emmy Award winners.

· Guests will experience four activations in four rooms with projection mapping of over 10,000 photos from artists around the world. Photos will be projected onto a wall and constantly changing.

· A “Talking Space” gallery will play pre-recorded interviews of over 20 participating artists spanning over 15 countries answering questions about their creative process, experience in the NFT world and involvement in ‘The World Today’

· The “Talking Space” gallery is intended to bring the same sense of community worldwide artists and creatives interact in the web3 NFT art space to the physical gallery.

· Visitors will be able to scan the QR code of any image and visit the NFT auction of that artist’s work to become a crypto art collector, supporting ‘The World Today’ project and artists in their web3 journey (must have a crypto wallet)

· On opening day, a live interactive Zoom panel featuring participating artists and live curators from Obscura will take place at 5:30pm EST from MAD Arts Studios.

· Obscura is an organization committed to empowering photographers in the web3 ecosystem.

· MAD Arts supports the artistic community by cultivating space for growth of artists and creatives at different stages in their careers and to leverage the creative energy generated in the space to create exceptional arts programming.
