Yissy García, a celebrated composer and drummer, is revolutionizing the new generation of Cuban music with her electrifying style and dynamic sound. Since 2012, she has led the acclaimed quintet Bandancha, delivering performances that explore Latin jazz, funk, and Afro-Cuban beats.

This year, Yissy will take the stage at the South Beach Jazz Festival, showcasing her rhythmic prowess and musical creativity. Her work with renowned artists like Dave Matthews, Esperanza Spalding, and Concha Buika, along with her award-winning collaborations in the ensemble Maqueque, has solidified her place as an icon in female percussion.
