In Part One, Dr. Price will discuss pre-surgery brain care strategies and how to improve your chances for a positive outcome. She will also address signs of a delirium and how to assess delirium. Then, Alzheimer’s Community Educator Julie Roca will share tips that will help you recognize common signs of the disease in yourself and others and next steps to take, including how to talk to your doctor.
Improving the Odds Part 2 - "Your Brain and Anesthesia" will be held April 21, 2022 from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM.
In Part Two, Dr. Price will discuss the basics of anesthesia, literature on spinal versus general anesthesia outcomes, and brain areas associated with anesthesia response. Then, Alzheimer’s Community Educator Ryan Gamberino will share research in the areas of diet and nutrition, exercise, cognitive activity and social engagement, and use hands-on tools to help you incorporate these recommendations into a plan for healthy aging.
