Children ages 5 – 10 will participate in “Tinkering: The Perfect City” at the Museum of Discovery and Science’s five-day winter break Camp STEAMology. Campers will plan, create, test and improve their engineering skills at MODS to collaboratively create their perfect city.
School is out but Camp STEAMology is in! Children ages 5 – 10 will participate in “Tinkering: The Perfect City” from 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
What do engineers do? They design and build structures using tools and machines. What can you engineer to solve a problem? Campers will plan, create, test and improve their engineering skills at MODS to collaboratively create their perfect city!
South Florida’s award-winning attraction featuring 150,000 square feet of dynamic science exhibits, an outdoor science park, a live animal collection, a rotating schedule of science shows, learning labs, café, store and a grand atrium featuring the Great Gravity Clock, a 52-foot-tall kinetic energy sculpture; the largest clock in Florida. The showpiece of the museum since 1993, this unique timepiece is one of only three in the world.
Children can also visit MODS’ traveling exhibit “Thomas & Friends™: Explore the Rails!” Rail. The exhibit was created by the Minnesota Children’s Museum in partnership with Mattel, Inc. and is nationally presented by Fisher-Price.
Presented by Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, Camp STEAMology admission is $300 per child for MODS members and $350 per child for non-members. Aftercare tuition is $50 per child. Registration is required at mods.org/campdiscovery.
