Delray Shores Pharmacy has the perfect prescription for its customers: a nostalgic soda fountain and café - right next door.
The Foxworth Fountain, created by pharmacist TJ Dildine and his wife, Rhyan, put this Delray Beach Art Deco building on the map. Inspired by old-time pharmacies that featured countertop seating, stools and soda jerks, the Delray Beach residents took the concept up a notch by adding both traditional and modern dishes for breakfast and lunch. That means, in addition to Belgian waffles, classic sandwiches and thick-cut oats, you'll also find avocado toasts; açai bowls; and paleo, keto, gluten-free and vegan options.
Drink and dessert choices abound, including over-the-top sundaes, specialty floats, hand-stirred sodas and egg creams. Adults can even enjoy shakes made with craft beer or CBD (hemp oil).
"Having served our community for over 40 years, Delray Shores Pharmacy's new vision is to give people of all ages within our local community a comfortable and nostalgic place to come and experience pharmacy the way it used to be," TJ explains on the company's website.
The pharmacy, which claims to be the longest-standing, family-owned independent pharmacy in Delray Beach, was founded in 1975 by TJ's father, pharmacist Thom Dildine, and mother, Carol.
